Acer extends Liquid Z smartphone series with the new Liquid Z5, a compact 5-inch device designed for first-time smartphone adopters or budget conscious users looking mainly for mobile browsing, photo and video clip taking anytime and mobile entertaining.

Acer introduced Acer TA272 HUL all-in-one that combines an ultra-high resolution 27-inch display, NVIDIA Tegra quad-core processor and premium chassis design. In addition TA272 is running Android OS 4.2 Jellybean, so users can take advantage of millions of apps and enjoy the Android experience afforded by mobile devices on a big screen.

Google acquired Swiss company Bitspin, creators of well known alarm clock application Timely. All previously paid in-app purchases such as extra themes and sounds are now available for free.
